This book is my way of saying ‘thank you’ to each and every person who has had any positive influence on this extraordinary, deeply personal, completely life-changing and lifesaving journey.

I am deeply grateful to our rural, regional, and remote communities across Australia who I owe my life to. They brought me ‘home’ to all the communities that I feel most ‘home’ amongst. 

I honour all those who have positively, genuinely, truthfully and greatly influenced my life. They have the same values as those instilled in me by my parents. I uphold these values with dignity, pride, grace, and integrity. 

I am also most grateful to those who have been steadfast in their care for my mental health and wellbeing and who have been my most trusted life-advisers. They have been right beside me to help me look after my best interests.
